A personal application for Tailscale

Complex technology.
Clear ideas.
A brand people feel.

I’m Jason Brown. I build distinctive identities and carry them through every place a brand meets its audience. Here’s the work I’d bring to Tailscale’s creative team.

Strong on its own.
Consistent everywhere.

01 / Enterprise technology identity

Adlib Software

A software company moving into AI-driven content intelligence needed an identity that felt progressive, approachable, and credible.

I developed a proprietary mark and wordmark, colour and typography, custom iconography, and guidelines that gave the new direction a clear visual language.

The system extended across web, ads, white papers, e-books, email, presentation decks, merchandise, and corporate graphics.

02 / A brand across the whole experience

Hidden Insights

From naming with the owner to the owl identity, website, mobile app, contact web app, and team clothing: a complete brand built from the beginning.

The same visual language guides a homeowner through the experience, from discovering the business to booking an inspection and keeping in touch.

Identity isn’t a file handed over at the end. It’s a system that keeps working in the places people actually use it.

What I’d bring to Tailscale

A clear idea.
The craft to carry it through.

01 / Make the technical human

Clarity with character.

Tailscale connects a deeply technical product with people who need to understand and trust it. I’d bring experience giving enterprise technology an identity that feels accessible and distinctive.

02 / Think beyond the asset

One idea, many channels.

A campaign, a presentation, a website, a shirt. I design the relationships between those pieces, so the brand holds together as the format and audience change.

03 / Stay close to the making

Direction and delivery.

My work spans brand identity, editorial design, digital experiences, and art direction. I’m comfortable shaping the idea and working through the details with designers, developers, and stakeholders.

AI4Love / Founder

Design judgement.
Different material.

Building AI4Love has taken my systems thinking into product design and AI-assisted development. It turns supporter activity into plain-language insights for nonprofit staff.

The design decision I’m proudest of is restraint: the product surfaces information, and people decide what to do. That experience gives me another way to collaborate with technical teams and think carefully about trust.

Let’s talk

Good design starts
with a conversation.

I’d welcome a conversation about Tailscale’s brand, the work ahead, and where my experience could help.
